為求總冠軍，勇士總教練科爾不惜變成「騙子」！勇士昨在總冠軍賽第4戰突然改用「五小」先發陣容，除了找回快打旋風節奏，更靠高達4成的三分命中率，終場103比82轟垮地主騎士，勇士扳成2平之際也順勢搶回主場優勢。
原本賽前媒體詢問科爾，是否考慮更換先發？當時他表示肯定不會，沒想到一開打，科爾改讓伊戈達拉取代中鋒波格特的先發位置，利用速度與外線火力，彌補勇士內線高度不足劣勢，結果證明科爾這場豪賭成功了。
儘管勇士在籃板上，仍居44比49劣勢，但勇士4成68的投籃命中率，遠勝於騎士的3成30，其中三分球表現更是懸殊，勇士投30中12，反南投英文補習班觀騎士投27中4，勇士有效利用速度拖垮可用之兵不多的騎士。
「我說謊了，很抱歉，」科爾賽後表示，「我不認為光靠道德感可拿總冠軍獎盃，一切仍看能否贏球，我只能說聲對不起。」伊戈達拉與柯瑞各替勇士貢獻22分，德拉蒙格林17分、7籃板及6助攻，哈里生巴恩斯14分。
柯瑞目前季後賽累積攻下522分，剛好超越1967年瑞克貝瑞的521分，成為勇士隊史單季季後賽得分最多球員，除了稱讚科爾從不畏懼做出改變，柯瑞更強調對於贏球的強烈渴望，才是勇士昨天扳平主因。
騎士主力詹姆斯昨天「浴血」奮戰，第2節不慎撞上場邊攝影機，當場頭部血流不止，但他把血擦掉，繼續上場拚戰，最後仍打41分鐘，投22中7、罰10中5，拿20分、12籃板及8助攻，得分卻不到前3戰平均（41分）的一半。
除了5天內打了3場，騎士全隊體能也受對方節奏打快影響，尤其第4節，騎士單節投18中2、只得12分，反觀勇士轟下27分，騎士當然沒有追上機會，賽後看來相當疲憊的詹姆斯說：「我們進攻太爛了。」
騎士中鋒莫茲戈夫28分、10籃板，崔斯坦湯普生也拿12分、13籃板，不過前役攻下20分的戴拉維多瓦，表現並不理想，全場投14中3、攻下10分，總冠軍賽第5戰後天回到勇士主場進行。
